Sorry Paul, I had missed your earlier post. Very interesting and fluid poses on display. I like those a lot compared to the more staid HaT versions. Good spot. Wonder when they will be released |

Cut their plumes off and they could be line. Plastic Soldier Review said RedBox have Austrians in overcoats in the pipeline. It exasperates me that there are no readily available Austrian Infantry (and other Austrian troops) out there. Just a few old and somewhat scarce sets. The big holes in the Napoleonic offerings is what keeps me from diving into Napoleonic plastic. ACW is what I have now. Can anyone convince me otherwise? The metal argument for supplements doesn't work for me. At that point I would stick with 15mm. Also frustrated with the new multi head HAT releases. Half the figures for the same price. Makes the argument for 15mm stronger. |

Then stay away from those mulit-head sets, unless buying just a few to fill in. Personally, I buy two sets with different heads and head swap them. Careful planning will result in two unique units with no or few wasted figures. New sets keep making my life easier. I was going to buy the bicorn French in greatcoats, and head swap them with shako French in field uniform to make some of Marmont's artillerist infantry from 1813. The bicorn heads on field uniform bodies would be early French in poses not available. The upcoming HaT infantry marching in greatcoats makes that uneccessary, at least for a marching unit. It appears all those figures wear epaulettes. Is that correct? My biggest frustration with plastic 1/72 is the lack of horse poses provided by HaT. Three horse poses instead of 2 would make an enormous difference. If that's a production problem, give me 4 horse poses. Would it kill ya? |

I have not yet seen these figures on order, but the great thing about the Early Russians is that, except for the headgear, the rest of the uniform is almost identical. So head swaps provide a huge number of pose variations – except for the light infantry, of course. I haven't seen the actual figures yet, but it may be possible to head swap the light infantry with the Hat light infantry. Those oversized HaT heads might make this impossible. |

I just got four sets of these in the mail the other day. I'll paint some up and upload some comparison photos as soon as I can get my work station back together. You can see the detail very well, like on the collar and cuffs. I'll have to look again to check the band around the tops of the shakos. Anyone building an early Russian army are going to want these for any shako grenadier battalion. As opposed to the HaT set, these have proportionate heads, and COMMAND FIGURES. |
