Our group here in the Lone Star Historical Miniatures (LSHM) club played our first game of Fire & Fury after months of painting the troops.

It finally happened, Rob – Rick – and I played our first game of 28mm ACW on Friday night (this was my 2018 project).

picture

Rob commanded his Confederate brigade (Anderson's Brigade out of Hoods Division from Gettysburg) while Charlie (3rd Brigade, 3rd Division, VI Corps – Sedgwick's command) and Rick (1st Brigade, 1st Division) attacked his well defended position.

As agreed it was a "Gentlemen's Game" to learn the mechanics and get the sequence down so no winner or loser.

We had a great night of moving lead and rolling dice. We plan to play a lot more as time goes on. I also plan to field my Mexican-American war (my 2017 project) using M-A Fire & Fury supplement.

I wouldn't consider it ULTRAMODERN unless I've somehow gone back in time to the 1860s, but that's a good looking game and well-painted miniatures!
