There was a post recently about new movies, but it looks like the 80 thousand pound independent production was to have been shown this past September.

I had not seen advertisements for it, and wonder is it may be out on disk; cassette, or whatever the thingy is called today.

My Sunday morning Starbucks buddy used to work on a WWII B-17G here in the states for his 3-week vacation in Octobers, and he is really into the air War in Europe. He and his wife flew in the plane from small US air port to another for a few days of helping tourists, and selling flight tickets.

IMDB says February 27, 2019 for the release date, as does the facebook page for the movie.

Looks like it was filmed at East Kirkby.

Did fighter pilots ever transfer to become bomber pilots? Seems rather unlikely, but I supposed it happened. Like those two hot shot fighter pilots in "Pearl Harbor" who went on to fly B-25s in the Doolittle Raid :)

The whole story line seems to be far fetched. I would have loved to see a good film about RAF (and allied) Lancaster crews, but this does not look like being it. I dread to think what my dad would have said about it having done a 30 op tour on Lancs back in 1944. He was scathing enough about Len Deighton's book Bomber and that had a mored credible story line.

Of course those two "hot shot" pilots in Pearl Harbor were pure fiction, like the rest of the movie. I know that some bomber pilots went the other way so I wouldn't be surprised to hear of Little Friends moving to Big Friends.
