My ECW Campaign has ended in June 1644 with a convincing Royalist victory, after King Charles defeated Essex link then Prince Rupert took London by assault… link

Many thanks to all for the kind comments I have had during the refight.

God save the King!

An interesting alternative history now beckons. I suspect a 3rd Bishops War with Scotland is almost inevitable.

Well done on playing through the whole campaign. Very interesting, even as a spectator! :-)

Thanks very much CtG. It has certainly been an interesting and educational experience for me. I am looking forward to giving it a another go in a few years' time, but with a more detailed treatment of Scotland and Ireland at the same time.

Congrats! An actual completed wargames campaign. They are about as rare as a unicorn, least in my experience. Nice job.

These were a lot of fun to follow! I even bought the boardgame to attempt to duplicate your campaign someday.

Thanks for all the reports.

Thanks very much both.

Congrats! An actual completed wargames campaign. They are about as rare as a unicorn, least in my experience. Nice job.

It is my second completed "big" campaign (I have previously completed a re-fight of the Peninsular War), plus I have completed a few smaller campaigns (like the Lardies' pint-sized campaigns, some Nuts! campaigns). I think it is a lot easier for me as a solo player, since if circumstances dictate I can put a campaign on ice and resume it at a convenient moment.

Speaking as more of an ECW reenactor, albeit on the side of God and Parliament, I enjoyed this very much. Well done!

Thank you so much for the entertaining AAR. I agree with mgh about seeing a completed campaign being a very rare thing.
Huzzah!

Thank you so much for this great thread. I've followed it from the beginning. I'd be very interested in your thoughts on Polemos now after all your varied battles and what house rules you suggest.

Thanks very much for all the kind words.

@Mark,
I'm going to collect my thoughts about the mechanics of the rules and the interaction of battle rules and campaign rules over the next week and write a separate blog post about.

It has been a joy to follow your campaign.
