A terrific game last weekend at the Wargames Holiday Centre re-fighting the battle of Austerlitz. Result was a resounding French victory (again). Hope you enjoy the pictures which give a feel for the action.

Rules were, of course, General d'Armee – with Mr Brown taking the Allied left flank.

A big thank you to everyone that took part – wargaming at its very best.

Didn't manage to zoom in but from what I could see most of the figures were out of period?

With Cossacks it can be a bit difficult to tell. The rest were definitely all Napoleonic. 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Didn't manage to zoom in either, but from what I could tell, everything looked awesome.

Marvelous troops! "Out of period" only in the sense that there were no French in Bicorns; no Russians in the 1805 era Shako, etc.

I personally like to organize and paint the French in particular in whatever uniform I can find with distinct features. I do only the Peninsular War, but my 45eme de ligne is in Waterloo uniform with the tricolor, not the lozenge pattern colours.

I have my own version of the 36eme de ligne in bicorn, and 9-company battalion, but use them as part of the 2nd (corps) division of my troops. Victrix plastics.

One needs to be VERY rich to have armies specific to the year. Just picture trying to do the American in AWI by battle!

Agreed GdP. Even the Wargames Holiday Centre is not that rich :-)

Personally I am also doing Peninsular armies – but in 6mm this is not such a big issue.
