I'm looking to branch into the 6mm sci-fi tabletop gaming hobby and I was looking at buying minis from Onslaught Miniatures:

onslaughtmini.com

The figures look really nice. I was wondering if anyone has bought any of the Onslaught minis and if so how did you find the quality of the figures?

How was the turnaround and customer service quality buying from Onslaught Miniatures?

What gaming rules do you play these minis with?

Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Cracking figures, cracking service.

Recommended.

Have bought nowhere near enough. Excellent casting and quality, superb service and good clean-up for painting.

Looking at the website I see many of the minis seem to be cast in the conventional lead & pewter or some metal compound. Be that as it may I see some of the other figures seem to be cast in some other material. Are those painted metal minis for demonstration purposes or are those figures made of a different material?

Thanks.

I have 6mm xenomites and okami combine and concur with Vis Bellica.
The only issue I had was mould lines running across the vents on the okami grav tanks, took some careful prep to clean up. Otherwise crisp and full of character. Still get beaten at horizon wars though…..
Cheers,
Wilf

Thanks to everyone for the feedback!

What rules do you use to game with the Onslaught Miniatures please?

I see one comment about Horizon Wars so I will look at those first :-)

Yes, Onslaught, CinC, Microworld, GZG, Brigade, Darkest Star off the top of my head, all have very nice 6mm Sci-Fi.

Rules – Net Epic:A, E:A, FWC, Strike Legion, Dirtside … off the top of my head …

Also Horizon Wars, And not hard to use most 15mm sci-fi rules with 6mm either. I just change the inches to cm.

Legion 4 is the 6mm sci-fi guru, so what he said!
Horizon Wars was a Club initiative, and Onslaught fitted the bill. Rules have some nice touches, but only a few games under the belt so won't comment further.
I understand there is a strong (ex-GW) Epic community, with fan rules.
Has Polyversal been released yet? Any feedback?
Cheers,
Wilf

Well I've been involved with Epic & 6mm Sci-fi since '89 … old fart But thank you ! evil grin And yes there are a bunch of ex-GW Epicers here too.

But May I also recommend the Tac Cmd Web site, that is really a very good place to go for Epic & 6mm Sci-fi. And has Onslaught, Microworld, and other 6mm companies (Oh I forgot DiD!) frequently visit, etc. And have Boards there as well. link

NCC1701D to answer your question, a lot of the pictures on the website are renders from the CAD/CAM design work, and a few are masters that have been 3D printed in one of the hig details plastic materials. I hope that covers that. :)
