In any number of games civilian figures are useful for any number of purposes. Should we have a new board for civilian figures?

It would prove useful.

It would be more useful to have it broken down by period.
For instance, I have no use for Roman civilians.

"It would be more useful to have it broken down by period.
For instance, I have no use for Roman civilians." -- I hear you, but do you really think the volume will be so great that you won't be able to sort out, say, "18th Century Civilians?" I kind of feel that having a "Civilian Figures" for all the existing periods on TMP is harder to manage, from a reader's perspective.

More so than animals, people are dressed for a period.
Actually put a woman in my Russian Napoleonic army. She is armed with a musket, have a few more unpainted not sure what to do with them.

Agree with 14Bore. A sheep is a sheep and varies by breed, not gaming genre. Info about converting/painting/using civvies in a wargame should be by genre. I wouldn't separate them from their genre boards. It is much easier to search the WWII board for "civilians" or "partisans" than it is to search a civilians board for WWII, "World War 2", "World War Two", Mid-19th Century, Near Modern, Resistance, or any of the other titles that would distinguish them by genre.

Civilians Board would be useful.

I agree with Etotheipi. Leave civilians in their period boards.

If it would help people learn what's available--in any/all periods--how could that not be another excellent resource in keeping with TMP's entire raison d'etre?
