It is indeed an amazing sculpt and one of the best from Perry's AWI range. I even believe it's modeled on one Captain Johann Ewald according to Giles from Talerton's Quater blog fame who I believe likely got the info from the Perry's.

If you Google "Johann Ewald", you get an image of him. He is facing in such a way that his eyepatch is in shadow. But if you look close, there it is.
