Anyone thought about doing CS in 1/700? I have several Skywave Destroyer kits in 1/700 scale that have been gathering dust and thought this might motivate me to get them built.

They did do a MTB set with PT/E-boats/UK MTB in 1/700th

I think ignoring the miniatures and playing the rules is the opposite of the result Warlord's marketing scheme was aiming for. grin

PT Boat Dockyard has a wide range of reasonably priced vessels from many countries.

Rudysnelson14 Dec 2018 12:27 p.m. PST

They are 1/600 and for WW2 include Poles, Norway, Roumanian, Hungarian and others

Whatever merits the bigger models may have, some of us already have collections of dozens of 1/600 or 1/700 vessels. I'm not duplicating scales, so I'll try the rules and if I like them AND they can easily be adapted then I'll play them.

Tried it already in 1/600. Works fine

Joes Shop,

Thanks for the Skywave heads up. Ordered.

After their sly marketing ploy to deprive us of the ship data sheets unless we buy their ships, I wouldn't buy their darn ships if my life depended on it. PT Dockyard will get my ship orders eventually.

To quote my favorite Tanker Coopman

Oddball: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Moriarty: Crap!

Choctaw: those are nice kits – easy to assemble and good value.

Same here. Large collection of 1/700 kits. Have six PT Boat kits. No need to have another scale in the ship collection since I also have 1/3000 modern naval too.

Coopman – all stats are in the rulebook – you don't need the cards…

Black Hat Miniatures is completely correct here and frankly it wouldn't be too hard to come up with either alternate cards of some type or to develop additional vessels. I have an LST (Lindbergh 1/250 kit) on order that isn't in the system so I will have to cobble together stats and a card for it along with the Destroyer Escort (another Lindbergh Kit in 1/300) I have to be assembled.

Fitz,

Absolutely. I ran 2 battles over the weekend in 1/600 and made stats for a kreigfischcutter.

I'm actually looking at using my 1/1200th scale navals, especially since I have a bunch of Italian and German small vessels in that scale.

I found 1/300 MDF merchant ships on Ebay for a really good price auction
