What is on the side of the RSO? If track links, they look wider than the ones propelling the truck. Or is it an optical illusion?

Those are special track link extensions for snow and rasputitsa mud.

Now that is interesting. I knew Tigers had transport width tracks but hadn't realised trucks had wet weather versions. Live and learn every now and then on TMP. Thank you
