First of all apologies if thee is already an active thread on this subject. I don't normally post in this section . In fact this is my first time here as I am usually posting in the WW2 and Modern threads . So I am just wondering what your thoughts are on Warlord's new game? I personally was hoping for something more on the lines of Warhammer Fantasy battle , with the use of armies as opposed to war bands of which this is designed for and the route GW more recently have turned to . |

I am interested in seeing more. I hate painting armies so the warband idea is appealing to me. |

I wait for more information but I was also hoping for something along the lines of old warhammer rather then just warbands |

Ditto – I wanted something where I could field all my LoTR armies as armies. Otherwise I'll just stick with my own "Warband" rules…. |

I'm really looking forward to this…. |

I wish there was more to the teaser about the rules rather than just saying that it's based on Bolt Action. |
Tony S | 15 Dec 2018 10:58 a.m. PST |
I thought they were based on Gates of Antares? |
Xintao | 16 Dec 2018 11:41 a.m. PST |
Ah crap, it's Warbands? That is not something I need another of. I want Ranks and Flanks. |
SeattleGamer | 16 Dec 2018 1:49 p.m. PST |
Agreed. I was excited for a few minutes because it's Ricky P, and then when it turned out to be war bands, I no longer cared at all. |

Yeah, Hail Caesar fantasy would have been really sweet. I suspect they're breaking out the Wargames Factory Orcs and Skeletons for this. Which is great, those are fantastic kits. But yeah, I'd hoped for something that would scale up and down better than Kings of War, which is fantastic at 1000 points + but really swingy at lower values. |

@Tony S- yes- that's right. They share the basic Orders dice mechanic or something like that. |

I am not sure how much support this game will ever get, to be honest. The fact the name is 'Lord of "Nowhere"' leads some to believe it was an inside joke or a disgruntled employee making fun of the lack of support Warlord gives to games (ie Project Z, the Terminator game, the Samurai game, etc, etc, etc) and it slipped past those in charge (or they just did not care!). |

The new erewhon boxes show the miniatures in squared bases… |
Xintao | 18 Jan 2019 5:31 p.m. PST |
Looking at the promo picks, they are taking existing picks and just Photoshoping them together.
It is interesting that they have the new (re-released) figures from Wargames Factory on square bases….
Maybe there will be a big battle supplement down the road, but I'm not holding my breath. |

….. making fun of the lack of support Warlord gives to games (ie Project Z, the Terminator game, the Samurai game… I don't know or care about the Terminator or Project Z game, but Warlord does support Test of Honour (the Samurai game) quite well, thank you. New boxes are coming out for it all the time. While I prefer Ronin/En Garde, ToH is probably the biggest samurai skirmish game currently. |
Asteroid X | 21 Jan 2019 8:26 p.m. PST |
Bowman, are you saying that only if a game is initially successful that Warlord should provide any support for it? |
Asteroid X | 01 Feb 2019 11:32 a.m. PST |
Bowman, I just got an email this morning from Warlord. They are discontinuing 'Test of Honour' (the Samurai game). link |

Wmeyers No. You said the "the Samurai game" was a game that Warlord was not supporting, which was blatantly wrong. Warlord is not "discontinuing" Test of Honour. The license has ended and the game reverts back to the original owner. I don't play it as I prefer other rules, but I have some of the metal figures. |
RobSmith | 05 Feb 2019 11:58 a.m. PST |
We played a game on Sunday. It was a lot of fun. If you like Bolt Action, Gates of Antares, etc. then you should enjoy this game. I don't have the rules yet, so can't comment on specifics, but everyone in our group has broken out their old fantasy minis. |
Asteroid X | 08 Feb 2019 1:14 p.m. PST |
Boweman; I am not sure what you mean. You clearly misread what I typed. I stated, "lack of support Warlord gives to games", not "No. You said the "the Samurai game" was a game that Warlord was not supporting". Yes, Warlord is discontinuing their Test of Honour products. When a product reverts, the "Licensee [must] disontinue forthwith all use of the Licensed Mark" ( link ) . |

Would Dragon Rampant warbands work size wise for Warlords? Approx 50/60 minis. Would be very cool if I can use my minis with another rules Too! |
Empgamer | 11 Mar 2019 10:32 p.m. PST |
Be interesting to see if they plan to release figures for the other factions or whether you're down to just scouring other sources. |
David Johansen | 12 Mar 2019 5:57 a.m. PST |
I expect that depends entirely on how well it sells. |
Xintao | 12 Mar 2019 3:02 p.m. PST |
I've read on Facebook they have no plans for figure lines. |
