Part Two of Two of my review of the rules "One-Hour Skirmish Wargames" on my blog. I finish the test game then use my rule rating system to give them a score.

TLDR version: I like them, but mostly for Age of Machine skirmishes and later.

Great review. I think this is worth a try and as with many of these types of rules can be tweaked to add more color.

How would you handle the grid?

Dale Hurtt14 Dec 2018 5:05 p.m. PST

I thought about that a lot. At first I was thinking 3" grid, but in the end I think a 1" grid with one figure per square. Larger models would pin the upper-left to the square. 1 diagonal per X squares (not sure yet, 1 per 6?). I have one mat with 1" squares, so I figures I would try it.

Kaptain Kobold came up with a suggestion of adding one more action point to Fire for both the musket and rifle. I like that as I think the firing in the Age of the Musket is too rapid as is.

Thanks for the reply.

I think the smaller squares would work best.

I was thinking a reload marker for the muskets but that does add another layer so Kaptain Kobolds idea sounds more in keeping with the rules
