Hello, all, Just finished a small project of converting some figures to represent Hungarian/Honved mounted commanders. Below is a sample: Lt Gen Artur Georgei
Represented by a converted Perry ACW Confederate General:

Lovely job. Perfect for Gorgei at the 2nd Battle of Komarom! "He took off his white-feathered hat and waved it to warn Poeltenberg of the danger. The Galician Polish lancers also noticed the Hungarian commander, and shouted "Tilko tego czerwonego" [just get the one in red!] to one another and to their horse artillery next to them. Görgei took a terrible blow to the head and realized he was wounded." (My translation of an excerpt from Hermann's "Nagy csatai …") Chris Bloody Big BATTLES! link Komarom II AAR on my BBBBlog: link |

Thanks, all. Chris, I wasn't aware that you had a BBB blog. Just added it to my list of blogs.
Tried to drop a comment there, but it prompted me for Google Plus credentials, which I don't have. So I'll mention it here: Nafziger has a good list of OOBs for the Hungarian Uprising. Best, Ed M |

Hi Ed, Thanks for visiting the blog, glad you liked it enough to list it; it keeps me amused. There's certainly lots of good info in Nafziger but also some bad; quite a few typos, but more importantly I believe the list for at least one of the major battles is very substantially wrong, listing commanders and units who weren't there and omitting others who were.
