I don't mean a drummer or bugle player on a command stand. I mean a BAND, with varied instruments in a group. Here are mine: Eureka's string quartet. With one of those Bachs on harpsichord, Frederick the Great on flute, Jerry Douglas on dobro…. I just made that last one up, but wouldn't that be awesome? The Turkish or whatever SYW band from Foundry. The famous Stealth German Band that allegedly Burgoyne sent to Bennington. And a fun game that was! It has drummers in various hats, jaeger horn players, Eureka Saxon woodwind players. All in the lovely Brunswick yellow coats with various facings. An O-gauge jug band. |

Only two from me. Eurekas 1930's Jazz band converted with Sun Helmets to mimic Madnesses, "Last Boat to Cairo" video with Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer as a guest. Em4's rockers to mimic Steel Panther. |

Oh, I wish i could have a full P&D in 28mm sometime… I've got the aforementioned Eureka string quartet to provide some calm in the general's HQ (relieve the fuss of those messy ADC's dashing in and out, tracking in mud and whatnot). I've got Bob Murch's version of the jazz band. And a skeletal Grateful (un)Dead rock trio. |

Two rock bands – one Orc, one modern A set of standing strings and woodwinds that can form various chamber music quar/quin tets The flutists can also go with marching percussionists to make various configurations Guy with a boombox and zombie version of same I think the conversion of an Austrian gnome bugler into a tuba player should count Barbershop Quartet (given away to a relative in a barbershop quartet) Jug band in progress |

The New Orc Philharmonic, with drums and double-b-flat sousaphone (first generation Ral Parthas from the 1970s). The Grateful Undead for the Skellies (second generation Ral Partha with some extra guest drummers). A string quartet or so of chibi Bards. The Spirit of '76 (Vix, The Kid, and Yankee Doodle from Fife & Drum); and can expand that with a whole bunch of converged drums, fifes, and a bagpipe for the late 18thC marching band. I think all other musicians are glued to command stands, or random singles that don't really converge into a band. |

A raggedly stylish collection of Afghan/Frontier Tribal musicians; Jakin and Lew, the drummer boys from Kipling's "The Drums of the Fore and Aft" -- though I may be biased I think they are special enough to count despite being just one drummer and one fifer; and pipers -- MANY MANY pipers, enough for an entire band, though they would be the massed pipes and drums of various Scottish regiments. And while discussing pipe & drum bands, though this is really not the place for it, I must nonetheless brag that my plebe Cadet daughter is a drummer in the West Point Pipes & Drums, which beat Navy's Pipes & Drums in the Battle of the Bands this past Friday, by unanimous decision of the most expert judges. I will definitely be playing recordings of them the next time troops march onto my table! |

I worried about merging Bob Murch's '20s jazz band with the Eureka '20s jazz band because the figures are slightly different in heft, and their jackets are dissimilar. Painted them up anyway, and the eye just loves them all together in a 16-piece band. |
