In the end, diplomacy prevented a potentially bloody war.


On Oct. 4, 1998, a top Turkish commander declared that the two countries were in "a state of undeclared war."…."

I'd think so as well … Again in that region, with one side generally using primarily US equipment and the other Russian.

If it did happen, we may not see what is going on in Syria today ?
