Hi guys, I really need the swarm knowledge here. I'm starting with 15mm WWII gaming in North Africa and I was looking for German, Italian or British aircraft I could use on the ground, for example as part of an objective or terrain.
I ordered a Messerschmitt and a Hurricane from PSC (Zvezda models) which were labelled as 15mm but had to realize they were 1/144 models and looking ridiculous small on the ground compared to vehicles or buildings.
What is great on the models is that they can be built with the landing gear out and they come with a visible propeller.
Both is important for an aircraft model supposed to be on the ground.
Now has anybody an idea where to find such aircraft? I know there are die cast models but most of them are depicted flying and of course don't bear the right camouflage.
Is there really no way to have a nice little airfield on my table?
Looking forward to your suggestions.

Search on Ebay for 1/100 scale airplane models. There are tons available.

Look at Armaments In Miniature's website (also known as AIM). They have a goodly number of 1/100 scale WWII models cast in resin. I'm not sure if they come with the landing gear down option, though they could be modified if not. His Quality excellent.

I have some surplus 1/100th (15mm) AIM models – some are OOP currently, but not sure how appropriate they would be for North Africa, other than the Spitfire (perhaps the 190A too, or in Italy).

All are brand new, still in their original packaging.

All come with resin landing gear. These are older models from AIM, so not sure if the current AIM models come with the landing gear still.

I have the following:

1 x Spit Vb (believe this one works for N.A.)

2 x FW-190A

2 x P-47D

2 x P-51D

All are superb resin castings, with very few if any bubbles, and those, if present, will be very small so easily filled, and located on the undersides of the models (I don't recall seeing any on these, but it's been a while since I looked at them).

Asking $11 USD each, or all 7 for $65 USD, plus shipping at cost.

I'll list these, and my contact info over on The Marketplace portion of the page.

Ad is now live on the WWII Marketplace page.

AIM makes nice stuff. Quick Reaction Force also makes 1/100 scale WW2 aircraft.

AIM and QRF models don't have propellers…

I don't see these tons of 1/100 aircraft on Ebay.
At leaset not what I asked for.
