Comments or corrections?

After reading through many comments I have decided to try playing the TY system with 3mm Pico Armor miniatures. In order to do this I have a few questions that I am hoping to get some help with (I am assuming that some players do play TY in 3mm):

1- Am I better off to buy the standard TY Starter Set or just buy the TY rule book (assuming I can find a standalone copy)? If I buy just the rule book how would I source game components like tokens, measure templates, reference aids, etc?

2- I see that TY uses various data cards to show unit information. I presume some cards are included in the TY rule book but how can I get the expansion cards since I wouldn't be buying the TY Expansions?

3- Does the TY rulebook include scenarios? Would I be correct in assuming that the scenarios will detail how I should setup the terrain and what units to deploy for the game?

4- Do you have any suggestions as to how to source terrain, buildings, etc to play TY in 3mm?

Let me thank you in advance for any help.

1. Since you don't need anything in 15's, I would suggest buying the other components you need a la'carte to save money. You'll want the larger hardcover rule book anyway. The abbreviated rule book included in the starter sets are much smaller and soft-bound.

2. The rule book contains data and points costs on only a limited number of US and Soviet units and vehicles, before more units and vehicles were made available in the 'Stripes and 'Red Thunder' supplements. If you don't get the nation-specific army books (i.e., Stripes, Red Thunder, Iron Maiden, Leopard, Volksarmee & Free Nations) but need cards of units/vehicles in them, you can download most of the unit/vehicle card fronts from the various unit description webpages Battlefront posted on their Team Yankee website. However, the back of the cards showing possible unit sizes, corresponding points costs and special rules are not available at these sites. I would suggest getting the army books that you need unless you know people who can provide the missing information you need.

3. The basic rule book has some scenarios for only the US and Soviet units included in them.

4. No. I play in their supported 15mm scale, but I'm sure others might.
