The poll description is "Which companies do you see leading the way in our hobby?" In the business world innovation usually means new and better ways of doing things. New systems. Better processes and products. Use of new technologies. Lower costs. Innovators are able to use the new technologies.. A good comparison is the boardgame industry. Its miniatures leave ours far behind. Why? Innovation is one reason why there many boardgame stores in my city but no wargame stores. Innovation sells product. The companies leading the way in the hobby are the ones running the kickstarters. |

When I compare Warlord to some other companies, I find that they are far from being worst in most things. They are not cheap, but still a laugh compared to GW or Fantasy Flight, they tend to have better rules than most mainstream commercial sets. Warhammer, while playable never had any real neat and elegant ideas, Wizkids rules made no sense and most others are so simple they only offer an advantage to the player who spent the most money. |
