On Saturday December 1, 2018 we fought the Battle of Leuthen focusing on the Prussian attack of the village rather than the initial flank attack. I have broken the game report into several parts, so click the link to view Part I – the huge cavalry melee:

We used the Batailles dans l'Ancien Regime ("BAR") rules for 18th Century warfare. We use a 1:10 figure to man ratio with 28/30mm figures. Battalions have 60 figures and cavalry squadrons have 12 figures.

Impressive. Those are big battalions

Mr Fritz, interesting write up. I enjoyed reading it. BAR rules are new to me, though I have heard of Drums on the Mohawk. I like the Figure ratio and was wondering if you think these rules could work for Jacobite Rebellion? I already have lots of figures at a 1:10 ratio for the period.

Thanks
Chris

Nicely done – love the big battalions

The rules absolutely work for the Jacobite Rebellion, which we have gamed many times with the rules. Send me your contact info, via the comments section of my blog, so that I can send you a copy of the play sheet that has modified Jacobite specific changes

Der Alte Fritz,

Love this AAR on such a classic battle of the SYW (and your other AAR's as well). This is a wonderful period to wargame but there is a real lack of good rules sets with real period flavour for the SYW. How does one go about purchasing a copy of your rules? I tried your blog but to leave an entry it seems one has to be a member of Google Blogger or something?
