Charlie Fox Trot released a 28mm German camp made of zeltbahns. This release is accompanied by a tutorial.

Nice. Is the helmet on top authentic?

The helmet on top seems logical. They would cover the hole where the zeltbahns meet at the top. That way, if it rains, the water would flow down the helmet and down the outsides of the fabric.

Just me guess though.

A quick Google shows online period images with the helmet on top, so yes it is authentic.
