On Sunday 2 August 2018, Sir Peter Jackson's 'The Great War Exhibition', including the massive Chunuk Bair diorama that I was so involved with, closed its doors for the last time.

Back in 2015 around 140 wargamers from all over New Zealand worked in a team effort in 2015 to paint the 5,000 specially made 54mm Perry Miniatures figures.

The good news is that there is apparently plenty of interest in parts of the exhibition, including the diorama, being moved to another location. The organisers remain positive that the diorama will again be on display in the near future.

I managed to see it a couple of weeks ago when I was in Wellington. It was very moving and impressive.

Great work!

Cheers,

One of the true greats. I hope it finds a permanent home in the near future.

Certainly one of the most impressive anywhere.

Outstanding work that deserves a permanent home to honour the troops who fought there.

Wow!

That really needs a new home. Couldn't anyone convince Peter Jackson to fund a museum for it or something?

Wow! That truly is phenomenal.

It would be criminal to destroy such a magnificent diorama.
