I am wanting to add some militia units to my French, Dutch and Hanoverian/Hessian armies. However, I am unable to find if their militia included pikes or were they all muskets? Any help is greatly appreciated! Terry |

French militia units in Nine Years War were probably armed much as the regulars- pike and musket. Pikes were still in widespread use in most armies in the LoA period, i believe the Danes had given them up around the middle of the 1680s, but most other armies kept at least some into the WSS period. |

Thanks Steamingdave 2, Yes, the Danish, as well as the Hanoverian's and Celle had given up the pike by the time of the Nine Years War. So I am guessing since the regulars were sunig it the militia was most likely also trained in it's use. Terry |

Ahh, thanks. I'm familiar with the League, but clearly I have failed to thoroughly acronymise my grasp of history! |
