I just saw this. I have to agree with Bindon Blood, they are not 1066 period Saxons. Their hair is way too long, according to contemporary source evidence (and period – look at the Bayeaux Tapestry – differing hairstyles are clearly shown but the Saxon hair is what would be stated today as above the collar).
Another period reference, after the Viking raid on Lindisfarne in 793, Anglo-Saxon monk and scholar Alcuin wrote an admonishing letter to King AEthelred of Northumbria (died 796), bemoaning the way in which Anglo-Saxon nobles mimicked the fashions of the invaders.
'"Look at your trimming of beard and hair, in which you have wished to resemble the pagans. Are you not menaced by terror of them whose fashion you wish to follow?"'
That was over 250 years before Hastings. Look at hairstyles for men 250 years ago and then now. You can't compare them.
Maybe fantasy warriors along the lines of NorthStar's 28mm plastic fantasy warriors.
The good thing is these are only in the digital design stage (I hope!) and they can be changed.
I would hate to see Victrix put out a set they regret and does not sell well.
