Besides the Philistines and the Hittites , who else did the Hebrews war against ? I have a book on Battles of the Bible but I can't find it as I just moved recently .

DBA Early Hebrew (1250–1000BCE) also has Syro-Canaanites and New Kingdom Egyptians as enemies.

Later Hebrew (1000–587BCE) also adds Bedouin, Middle & Later Assyrian, Libyan Egyptian, Neo-Babylonian, Neo-Assyrian, Kushite, and Saitic.

And of course the Hebrews.

I always thought an interesting hypothetical battle would be Egyptians allied with Hebrews against the Assyrians allied with Philistines around the year 750BC. Sort of a Super Powers with allies clash over the levant.

Revolt against the Seleucids and the later revolt against the Romans.

I have Philistines, Assyrians, Babylonians, Midianites, Syrians and Egyptians.

You could do the battle of Kadesh, Egyptians with a contingent of mercenary or allied Hebrews versus the Hittites.

Otherwise Syrians, Canaanites, Philistines, Hittites, Assyrians and Babylonians and Romans.

It does really depend on what period you want to do, this would effect weapons, armour, if they had chariots etc…

Hebrew migration
Era of the Judges (Samson)
Reign of King David
Roman occupation

Good luck this is a great period.

Ammonites with Syrian allies. Midianites and close neighbours with lots of camels are nice visually.
Modern rules allow Midianites a f8ghting chance. Old WRG 6th days they were all skirmishes.

colin knight01 Dec 2018 9:30 a.m. PST
