Hi. I have a couple of questions about Prussian 28mm metal miniatures (later period). They are How was the fusilier uniform different from the musketeer uniforms. Did both troops have the same color of coats?
I want to purchased 28mm Prussian jager (schwartze?) miniatures but cannot seem to locate a company which sells them. ANy ideas?
Thanks.

This is from memory only, so about worthless, but to my recollection the uniforms were the same, but fusiliers had black leather and musketeers white. Tom |

Calpe and Front Rank have Jager figures and the Perrys do some Fusiliers (but no Jagers strangely). |

Also the fusiliers were equipped with a front "belly" cartridge box instead of the "over the shoulder" box issued to the musketeers. The cartridge box was without any decoration except in the Lieb Regiment which had a five-pointed star. They also tended not to carry the bayonet fixed since they were to be the light infantry element of the regiment. [Source: Nash, The Prussian Army: 1808-1815] Jim |
