Greetings,

My son has been posted to Holsworthy and although he will be training for most of next year, he is interested in gaming if he gets a chance. He thought there was a club on base but seems to think it is no longer going.

I am not really familiar with Sydney (lived in Oz 41 yrs and only been there once!) so I was wondering if there are any clubs nearby Holsworthy I can point him to? He has never played commercial rules, only home grown with me. He is interested in historical periods, not fantasy.

Any tips greatly appreciated.

cheers
Jon

We used to play ancients comps _in_ the barracks at Holsworthy.

I guess the Sutherland club that runs MOAB is the closest.

We have a club in Mittagong (less than 1 hour south) that meets once a month. There is also a club at Annandale (probably 30 mins towards city). Links on Facebook are below.

I would recommend the Hall of Heroes store in Campbelltown. Only 20 mins from Holsworthy and lots of games regularly on offer – usual GW games as well as lots of historicals (black powder, hail caesar, team yankee, bolt action, saga, etc) and other games (d&d, x-wing, etc).
Plenty of tables and terrain too.
They have a Facebook page.

Second Hall of Heroes, it will be a good launching pad for further club info.

I use to game at the Holsworthy club 20 years ago, mostly DBM ancients and Napoleonics good times.
