How many flags did the Hessians generally have 1 or 2?

Then who besides Flat dude is there for flags?

I can't find painting guides except for the Canadian Wargamers Guide for the Hessians, should I use SYW as a base?

One flag per company. A Hessian Regiment normally has 5 companies in the field.
Note the Hessian Grenadier converged battalions did NOT carry flags. Flags belonged to the regiment, and when the Grenadiers were stripped away and converged, the flag associated with that company did not accompany them.
Except that Grenadier REGIMENT Rall was not a normal converged grenadier battalion. It was a regiment that happened to wear a pointy hat. grin It's complicated.

Try Vaubanner Graphics for flags. I prefer them to The Flag Dude.

And when in the field, the flags were in a group with the command. The companies did not carry the flags themselves.
With a 24 figure regiment, I normally include only two flags on the command stand.

GMB makes excellent Hesssian flags.

I will second that suggestion. The GMB flags are wonderful and there is fantastic variety. Very reasonable price also.

I am using British Grenadier for my rules so It is flags per regiment.
I have looked at Vaubanner,Maverick and GMB but GMB list looks small on the website.

Flag dude is going out of business anyway. He is clearing out his inventory.

Try Flags of War. Both them and GMB are nice. I think they both cover all the Hessian Regiments. I have used Flags of War for my 12 regiments… though 3 are Grenadiers.
