Hey Folks,

I have a quick question about Eureka's 18mm Napoleonic figures. I am getting back into Napoleonic gaming after an absence of several years. I have several armies that I want to complete, but it seems that some of Eureka's lines don't have the figures I remember being available any more. For example, didn't Eureka make Portuguese dragoons at one point? Has Eureka been dropping figures out of their catalog?

Thanks, Mark

Majority of the figures would be sold under and as AB under Eureka webstore.
Being 15/18 NAP collector myself- the limited Eureka line has supported my 1809 Saxon army.
My understanding the limited Eureka line also supports the French 1815 Army- which I do not have.
Both are gaps in the AB line.
You may need to peruse the site ( if you are in the USA): eurekaminusa.com

I'm stupid. I meant to say that the figures I am using are mostly AB bought from Eureka (I also have some Saxon's in hats that are by Eureka). So, my question concerns the AB line. As I look at either the AU or USA store catalog on line, it seems that AB figs are missing.

Thanks, Mark

To the best of my knowledge, neither AB nor Eureka have ever produced Portugese Dragoons, otherwise I would have bought them.

My Portugese Dragoons are by Fantassin/Capitan Miniatures.

AB Miniatures is a separate company now. abfigures.com

I seem to recall that Fantassin/Capitan Miniatures have stopped production. Is that correct?

So far as I am aware nothing has been dropped from the AB 18mm Napoleonic line. Tony hasn't made Portuguese cavalry yet (he did mention them to me in conversation on Tuesday, so they will be coming. He has recently added Portuguese artillery.
AB has always been a separate company, the big change we made was to give them a separate web site.

Nic,

Thanks for the update. I look forward to seeing the Portuguese cav.

IIRC Fantassin/Capitan figures are still available from Stonewall Figures in the Uk. Check out their website. Also, Campaign Game Miniatures are very nice and are compatible with AB.

Alcibiades, Thank you for the information on Stonewall miniatures and CGM.

Perhaps a note of caution re Stonewall Miniatures? CGM figures are quite nice though.

Fantastic news on the Portuguese Dragoons.

i was going to suggest CGM , they're very nice figures , not as nice as AB but also not as expensive :)
however they don't make any Portuguese cavalry .

To be fair, Nic is probably tired of me asking about Portuguese cavalry – I bought a full set of artillery when those came out (and they are beautiful sculpts).

For the record, the old Battle Honours Portuguese dragoons are on the smaller side of that range, so rather out of scale for modern ABs.

George, thanks for the comment on the size of the BH figs … I had thought about using them.

Maybe I will checkout the Old Glory 15 figs.

QUICK TIP: If you cant wait for the AB version of Portuguese Dragoons and do decide to use the Old Glory figures then can I suggest that you use the riders but mount them on AB horses. Makes the world of difference to them.
