Hi all-

Looking for suitable 15/18mm figures to represent the Mexican involvement in the Apache Wars, or specifically Victorio's War. Thinking of a signature Mexican unit or two to add into a Pony Wars or TMWWBK-based scenario, to go with the usual mounted Apaches and US Cavalry.

Am flexible on time period if dictated by figure availability. For this project a little bit of "Hollywood" wouldn't be objectionable.

Many thanks!

I would suggest Peter Pig's Mexicans from their Wild West range. peterpig.co.uk/wildwest.html or from Brookhurst in the US.

They certainly look rather like these chaps (labelled as Apache prisoners and Mexican soldiers after the Battle of Tres Castillos):

Blue Moon might have something suitable too.

What you need are figs that look like Rurales. These paramilitary police fought the Apaches. They wore light gray uniforms based on vaquero dress (w/sombrero).
If you can find vaquero figs with the short jacket, button pants and sombrero, you're in.
UKfrontier figs has a 15mm Mexican War line with Mexican Irregular cav that might fit the bill.
