This is the sort of things the Germans wasted a lot of time on! Indeed, but a lot of money was wasted on abortive projects by all nations. Spruce Goose for example. For tank designs it is hard to top the British. Take the Covenanter a tank so poor it never saw combat, but they still built nearly 1,800 of them. Lots of other wacky stuff too. Praying Mantis, TOG's I & II, Tortoise, the Panjandrum. For the US it is hard to beat the M6 heavy tank. After 3 years and millions of dollars they had a tank that was as heavy as a Tiger, with thinner armour and a worse gun and was even more unreliable. |

Was this really a prototype vehicle? I presumed it was a fabricated photo for some weird ww2 game. I think for it to have worked it would have to had an outrigger drag to provide resistance just to move(think threadspool rubber band tanks with a matchstick). The training wheels on the sides wouldn't cut it. |

In war you have to experiment… mostly you have trash… but sometimes… only sometimes … you have a good war machine…. The Miniature model is great!

The Kubinka machine doesn't look even remotely the same. It has an outrigger too. The model is probably fictional and the photo was meant to look retro. Damn, I just saw the "what if series" on the box art. |

I think the Kubinka machine is a water hauler. |

I think the Kubinka machine is a water hauler. It doesn't look like it would hold water! |
