So, yesterday I got to play 2 frigate actions using Post Captain and a ship engagement using Blood & Plunder. It was fantastic! Come see the game reports at my blog:

EDIT: Lots of photos in both posts.

jowady,
Is the "wow" for three games, or two losses out of three games? ;)

IronDuke596
Thanks. I'm getting better at taking pictures to record the progress of my games. There was so much twisting and turning in the second one though, that I wish I had kept a track chart or something.

Great post – shows off the subtleties of the system well.

Very nice AARs, Brian. Please do consider including a track chart next time round. I think you have a great idea there.

Sorry for the deleted post, but the Bug bit me as I posted a long response. So, let me try again.

Mr Astrolabe,
Yes there are a lot of subtleties in the system. After playing for a while, I'm still finding areas where I go "ohhhhh, OK." after doing something. Perhaps the hardest thing to come to grips with is missing with a complete broadside at close range. It doesn't mean you missed per se, it just means you didn't do any significant damage.

Blutarski,
I definitely want to try and do a track chart. I need to set down with the turn gauges and see how many movement points translate out to how many degrees. I also haven't decided whether to use hex or graph paper. I think trying to freehand it on regular paper as the game is going on would be too much work.
