Clearly, looks like I've missed the boat on the metal, Battlefront, 15mm Soviet Infantry for Team Yankee's Cold War era.

So, how do their plastics compare with those from PSC, in terms of quality, appropriate weapons mix, cost, and size?

Are the figures from the two ranges compatible?

Does anyone offer them still, in metal, and which do people prefer, the metal or plastic figs from BF?

Also, I'm interested in other nations troops too, though it looks like the small pack of West Germans (their platoon pack) is still in metal.

Wish they sold a company pack, instead.

Appears they are the only game in town, other than QRF, which are nice Cold War German figs, since PSC doesn't make West Germans currently, which is a bit surprising.

Would like some earlier, American Cold War troops too, in the old M1 helmets, and with M60 MGs, instead of the more modern Fritz helmets.

Anyone make a decent range of those now, preferably in metal?

I think you can still find the metal box sets from FoW on eBay.

Check out Khurasan's line of cold war figures. I have some and they are really well done. Different proportions than FoW, so be aware (they are are a little more slender and perhaps slightly taller). But I think they are better sculpts.

QRF also make plenty of Cold War infantry in metal. Available in the US from me at ScaleCreep.com

Irregular, Mike Yarrow and Peter Pig have some suitable stuff too.

Maybe look at a Vietnam range?

Sure, there are minor differences in the cut of the uniform, but at 15mm scale it's a guy with a steel pot and an M-16…

Second all people have said. Khurasian mixes with the other but it is a stretch
Can't speak to psc figs. I like bf metal infantry and plastic vehicles. Peter pig has nice figures and would be good choice for early US
Enjoy!
