I saw the BBC transmission in HD and was amazed by the improvement. Saved it thank goodness.

Never yet seen a version over 128 minutes. I built up a small collection of "lost images", many from the opening premier brochure or publicity shots;

Funny how often they are "flipped" and reversed. Lord Hay in the Square, Uxbridge next to Wellington, Louis XVIII etc

This sounded promising but first attempt said blocked in UK for copyright reasons. Did not give up. A German version claiming to be over 3 hours, turned out just to restart the film at 128 minutes! Finally found this, but all it does is show some dubious stills, mixed in with repeated screened video and some subtitles from the original script.

Praiseworthy try! If only……

I have mentioned before there is a chap in Nigeria who contacted me on line. He has a video/for VCR of the legendary 4 hour version he tells me and, if I send him my bank and credit card details………..
