"El emperador Carlos V y Francisco Pizarro fueron dos grandes caudillos del siglo XVI, un siglo en el que las naciones europeas buscaban su identidad mediante interminables luchas y en el que se comenzaba a colonizar el Nuevo Mundo descubierto por Cristóbal Colón apenas tres décadas antes, entonces llamado las Indias. Las crónicas coetáneas recogen que estos dos grandes caudillos se admiraron mutuamente en algunos momentos y que en otros se distanciaron. En las presentes páginas, junto con la descripción de algunos de sus más relevantes hechos, se trata de analizar si ese distanciamiento se produjo a nivel personal o sólo fue político….."

is a big fan of the Age of Sail, and these ships really speak to him - he loves transitional eras, and the Anglo-Dutch Wars was one of those.
