I'm questing for very short telescoping rods to use for mounting Brigade Models' Aeronefs. The CorSec ones are about 7" collapsed height, and that's more than I want. Seems like they would be very tipsy prone on small bases. Some google-fu finally uncovered these: link (100) $71.81 USD Folded length: 57.6mm Expansion length: 147mm (expanding a total of 4 sections) Does anyone have experience with them? I'm hoping they will stay extended under the weight of metal ships. Those heights are ideal! Anyone have suggestions for other short ones before I punch 'buy' on these? |

For really heavy ones consider a base with a socket and an assortment of various length rods. |

CorSec has the different fixed rods option in good lengths. Fiddly to change in mid-game, but on my options list. |

Getting that base off could be problematic, and a concern, since if you remove it, I suspect there are just the hollow antennae tubes underneath. I have some that have a screw socket in the bottom, and are about 4" high, telescoping to 19", IIRC. They have fixed heads, and magnets on their tips for easy attachment to minis/models. Can't sell them for anywhere near that price though. They're designed to go with the clear, acrylic, hexed bases for the Topgun Dogfight Flight Stands, the originals of which are designed with the swiveling magnetic heads, that permit even inverted maneuvers to be represented. Those with the swivel heads telescope from 7" – 22" in length. 3", 4", and 5" hexed bases are available, and they're sold in matched polarity sets for your convenience. They'll support even heavy, diecast metal models, like the approximately 1/100th scale, Corgi WWI biplanes, and the Titanium range of Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica spacefighters. Looks like that tab thing is the same width as the lower shaft. Probably would have to drop it into a tube. K&S should have a good sized aluminum tube to cut up for that. A little fiddly on the initial assembly, but it is an outstanding price. How tipsy are those plane stands in action on the table? |

As shown, the 4" bases we sell will support diecast metal fighters at full extension, in a 90 degree bank, as long as you don't shake the table, or try to use them on soft carpeting (they need a hard surface underneath a cloth/felt table cover to work properly). That is a great price on the antennae though, if you can make them work. Tips look a little rounded too, which might be an issue as well. |

After meditating on this for a few days, I just ordered these. Hoping they work, the height range is just perfect. With a first-time user discount and another discount for using PayPal, came to $65 USD for the 100 pack. |

I will post results! .65¢ each is amazing. $65 USD is still a risky test price. It's like a freaking huge box of chocolates… |

The antennae have arrived. The friction is great, and these should work fine even with heavier models. Photo over in this thread: TMP link |
