Actually yes. In 1/72.

Perris070730 Oct 2018 7:35 p.m. PST

Well, if you consider Sung ancient, then yes. Also Jurchen and Ming.

mghFond30 Oct 2018 8:06 p.m. PST

Yep, 12mm collection of Mongols and their Chinese opponents. Rules system: To the Strongest

oopsdoubleone Sponsoring Member of TMP31 Oct 2018 2:29 a.m. PST

Yes 28mm Chinese and Mongols

and some Han Chinese too…..

😊

Redcurrant31 Oct 2018 2:36 a.m. PST

I have only just sold my Qin and Han Chinese, but still have Early and Later Tang, and Sung

Still looking for a really good Qin/Han range. Most ranges are either incomplete, inaccurate, or have some stupid poses.

I have an ancient Chinese curse put on me, does that count?

Saurocet31 Oct 2018 3:05 a.m. PST

Tang, Han, and Mongol.

Saw the terracotta warriors exhibit at the Smithsonian a few years ago. They've been on my to-do-list ever since.

langobard31 Oct 2018 3:43 a.m. PST

Sadly, no. Just can't seem to get around to even thinking of an army list, let alone planning on buying the minis even though I think they would be a very good army.

FusilierDan Supporting Member of TMP31 Oct 2018 3:50 a.m. PST

I have some on the painting table but not a complete/painted army

jameshammyhamilton31 Oct 2018 3:53 a.m. PST

I have 15mm Han and am considering adding Song and or Northern Dynasties.

Tiberius31 Oct 2018 4:09 a.m. PST

15mm Han

goragrad31 Oct 2018 4:11 a.m. PST

Han and Three Kingdoms BBDBA and a Warring States single in 15mm.

Shang, Northern & Southern Dynasty, T'ang, and Ming waiting painting.

A few Sung , but not enough yet for an army.

Calculon31 Oct 2018 6:04 a.m. PST

I have armies for most of the periods of Chinese history from Shang to Ming in 15mm. Only the Shang requires painting. For some reason Chinese military history really interests me – perhaps it's because information on it is so elusive I felt compelled to find out more, although more and more is coming to light as the years go by.

I have Han and Boxer Chinese forces, as well as generic East Asian civilians that could qualify … but they were painted only three years ago, so not ancient yet.

SAMURAIFREDDY31 Oct 2018 8:52 a.m. PST

I have a 28mm Kithan Liao all horse Essex figures army in the make (a few units to be painted yet) based for DBMM and a 28mm Mongols army on the make as well , however the latter I guess do not belong to the Anchient Chinese cathegory..?!

I have some Boxer units who could fill in as irregulars but nothing else

catavar31 Oct 2018 10:39 a.m. PST

Early Tang, Nan-Chao and Sung

kodiakblair31 Oct 2018 11:45 a.m. PST

Nope. No interest in Asian warfare.

Bowman31 Oct 2018 12:10 p.m. PST

Waiting for 28mm Ming to be made to act as allies for the Koreans in the Imjin Wars.

Tony S31 Oct 2018 2:28 p.m. PST

15mm Tang. Really want to do some Warring States armies someday.

CalypsoCommando31 Oct 2018 3:17 p.m. PST

Back in my DBM days I ran Sha T'o Turk/Later Tang (sort of a Turkish-Chinese amalgum army). When FOG came out I added some troops and morphed them into a proper Tang army, since under that ruleset the Tang Chinese were actually a viable list.

Rudysnelson31 Oct 2018 5:14 p.m. PST

I have had Han China, Tang China, several different Burma, Burma's, Mon Nd Shan-Chinese, Korean three kingdoms

Lion in the Stars01 Nov 2018 4:48 a.m. PST

@TMPWargamerabbit: You don't have enough Chinese…

@Dschebe: You need more Chinese!

Roommate has been watching 'The Qin Empire' TV series, it's trying to get me to build Qin-era Chinese and unify China. evil grin

Chinese food doesn't last long enough to get ancient around me.

The Last Conformist01 Nov 2018 9:58 a.m. PST

None that I'd normally consider "Ancients", but I can field a variety of later "Conquest Dynasties" from my medieval East Asiatic collection: Shatuo Five Dynasties, Khitan-Liao, Jurchen-Jin, and Mongol/Yuan.

Army lists for native Han dynasties tend to require more Chinese foot than I've got painted, but I could easily field a DBA-size Song army too.

Personal logo Parzival Supporting Member of TMP01 Nov 2018 2:16 p.m. PST

No. But it'd be fun to come up with "terracotta undead" concepts for Warmaster. Dang it… I've got too much else to do first!

Mike O01 Nov 2018 2:55 p.m. PST

I have medieval Chinese and Sino-Mongol (13th Century Song/Sung and Yuan dynasties) but none that would be properly considered "ancient" – agree with The Last Conformist on that one.

I have long wanted to start collecting Chinese armies from various eras, but have been put off by the lack of decent rules depicting Chinese warfare. Most rules just seem to use the same template for every Chinese army: hordes of indifferent mixed missile/light spear and medium cavalry, with the only differentiators between eras being being the degree of inferiority (and chariots in the ancient eras).
