I know the later, long barreled versions of the Sturmgeschutz were used by various German allies. However I can find no use by any German allies of models A-E, the short barreled models. I have looked at a number of sources to include Spielberger's volume on the Sturmgeschutz and seems only German formations had them. Anyone have anything definitive on use of the short barreled models by any of Germany's allies?

As always, thanks ahead of time.

They probably didn't make enough to loan out. But the time they were shipping stuff to Allies the short barrelled version had been replaced in production.

Agree with Fred – the Germans produced just over 800 all in of the StuGs A-E so I suspect they just didn't have enough to share

Could be. Total of 822 A-E produced while 9,726 of all other models. Spielberger shows a total of 274 exported to various countries from February 1943 to September of 1944 (two were shipped, probably for evaluation, to an unknown country in November of 1942). Interestingly enough the first country to get the Sturmgeschutz was Bulgaria in February of 1943! I just thought that perhaps, as they were replaced, some of the short barrel might find their way to allied units
