Good news for all of you Valiant Miniatures fans (me included) who have been awaiting the release of their resized 1/72 figures. The new 20mm classic Germans are available for pre-order on their website.

Much prefer metal figures, haven't seen a plastic figure yet that comes within a mile of AB

parrskool01 Nov 2018 5:07 a.m. PST

…. i have both plastic and metal and the old scale valiants were THE BEST of any I have seen, ever. I hope these keep up the standard.

Armourfast had the two new sets at Telford Scale Model World show last weekend. The re-sized figures are vey impressive, particularly the MG42 and mortar set.

Thanks MacColla. It's good to get some feedback from someone who has seen them. I am also pleased that it was positive as i have three sets on order!.
I do hope that we won't have too much of a wait before the other 1/72 sets are re-issued in the smaller scale. I have got my teeth into the desert war so thought i might try painting some up as afrika korps.

@Marc the plastics fan, you're welcome, I gave up playing with plastic when became an adult 40 years ago ;-)

Well plastic and metal very different beasts.
I find plastics lack of hard edges and undercuts a problem with my prefered painting style but there is no doubt you can get a handsome paint job on them if you have the right technique and if you like a bit of fettling conversion work plastic is ace.

What's adulthood like Blacky. Or is it just all internet snark? You come onto a post about plastic figures just to tell us you don't like them. Happy Christmas

Leon. Dead right there. Very different styles, and they respond to painting differently. I use both, and like both, and do find your range very appealing

As a favor to a friend, I bought a box of the old-scale Valiant GI's at Historicon from Army Group Center Wargaming. It may be worth asking Gary if he has the new set. See the link below. (Full disclosure: I am not financially connected to AGCW -- except for all the funds I spend as a happy and satisfied customer!) :-)
