All,
I am looking to do some small scale skirmishing in 28mm with modern era figures. I figure I need two turreted Humvees, a couple pick up trucks and a couple SUVs. I'd like to keep the cost at $10.00 USD per vehicle or less. What is out there?

at 28mm? I've found no wargaming models at that price. I grabbed a fist full of 28mmish Humvee's from FiveBelow but haven't seen them since. There's plenty of 'close enough' die cast vehicles for SUVs and pickups, and I've been picking up die cast cars from the Pixar Car's movies for dirt cheap from China, but none of them are technicals.

Butlers Printed Models might be a choice (not sure of the USD to BGP conversion rate) link but probably close to your price requirements.

3 humvees for 30$. Add your own turrets.

Check out CVS pharmacy they keep a free standing rack of usable die cast cars truck and humvs for $5.00 USD each.
They have big coupons reductions every now and then 40% off.

Yeah, you're going to be hard-pressed to find many dedicated wargaming vehicle minis for under $20. USD

For basic technicals or others, try Spectre Miniatures. Their BMP1 is 25GBP, basic Hummvee is 16GBP (add-on armor, turrets, and accessories sold separately), smaller technicals are cheaper. Their SUVs run 18-20GBP. link

Antenocitis workshop has a good range of civilian vehicles in their Survival range: link

And definitely check out your local CVS/Albertsons/whatever. Decent numbers of die-cast toys for cheap, just check the scale printed on the bottom.

Tim,
That looks good, but if I get other diecast vehicles that are 1/48th, will it look out of place?

I second the CVS/Duane-Reade/Walgreens/Rite-Aid/What have you route, particularly for civilian vehicles.

I'll third the retail stores. I also found a bunch at a regional hardware store.

Yeah, I picked up a couple civilian vehicles today, and then ordered two of Tim's Humvees.
