Gents,

painting some Louis XIV infantry and trying to understand the shoulder ribbons. Is there any guide to them? It looks to be the Cuff colour, unless grey then the waistcoat colour, also some appear to be a mix of red and cuff colour!

The Osprey "Louis XIV's Army" is as close as I've found. If you don't have a copy, it's pretty useful.
