I notice Perry sells these variants, for command but not line. What are the uniform differences? Something to do with the Raupenhelm maybe? Cheers. |

Yes. In 1809 officers wore a silver and cornflower blue waist sash as a symbol of office. This included infantry, cavalry and artillery. By 1812, the Bavarians had not only adopted a French-style organisation but also had taken on board some influence in their uniforms. Officers dropped the sash and instead wore a gorget when on duty in the same manner as their allies in the infantry and artillery. The cavalry did not wear the gorget but also dropped the sash. Also, as a matter of interest, while the chevaulegers at the beginning of 1809 wore a light green jacket, at the end of the year, they had adopted a dark green version which they would wear for the next few decades. Hope that helps. |

IIRC, there was a minor difference in the raupenhelm, too, probably unnoticeable at wargaming scales. |
