After seeing a piece on the childrens programme 'Why Don't You' in the late 70s or early 80s, my dad bought me a copy of Operation Warboard by Gavin Lyle in WH Smiths, which got me into wargaming.

I then discovered Naval Wargames by Barry Carter and the wonderful books of Paul Hague (Naval Wargaming and Sea Battles in Miniature).

I've been a naval wargamer ever since.
