It has been an adventure getting to Lancaster during Fall In and Cold Wars due to the fluky east coast weather. I once drove to Lancaster through a snow storm that was rather slushy but I made it. Bad weather has once in a while affected Cold Wars as well.
This year's November forecast is warmer weather. Snow is expected later in November. That's good enough for me.When the unexpected happens I have been able to cancel rooms without charge even beyond the cutoff date. But HMGS wants some lead time so I have lost money a couple of times. That's why I keep a close eye on the weather.

We've been having chilly nights (mid-30s) but right now we're getting a bit of rain.
Not sure of how this will affect the leaves turning, but you can barely see anything yet. With luck, all of the long-haul gamers will get a pretty landscape to drive through.

Oi, so not cloudless skies over the target, I see…….

RAF squadrons, stand down.

Weather for Cold Wars and Fall In (and Historicon, for that matter) has been remarkably good for the most part. As a vendor I'm much affected by the weather and not once in the last 13 years have I had to load or unload in heavy rain or snow.

I've shoveled snow coming and going from Cold Wars and Fall In, so often they serve as a personal almanac. The successful return from Cold Wars marks the end of winter, which starts with my return from Fall In.

But it would be nice to get through this one without serious inclement weather--especially since I'll be out foraging for meals three times a day. If the Host doesn't care to feed us in a restaurant, the least they could do is provide MRE's, C-rats, hard tack and parched corn. This is HMGS, after all.

I don't remember snow for Fall In but I do remember getting caught in a couple of blizzards for Cold Wars….

It's been quite wet here as of late and getting chilly at night. Day time should be 40-50s

Fall In 2011 had a remarkable early snow in October.

In the past, it has snowed at Cold Wars in March and it has snowed for Fall In as early as the last week in October.

The shows still went on as scheduled.

The issue of moving Cold Wars to April has been raised here before. You can look it up. (I know because I'm the one who brought it up.) For now, HMGS has decided to keep Cold Wars in March for 2019.

Beyond that, we'll see.

I have only seen snow before my birthday maybe twice ( mid November), we rarely get snow that sticks before Mid December

Wow Chris – I missed that one! Thanks for the picture..

I remember that. I was staying at the Host that year. I don't remember it disrupting anything.

I rarely go to either Fall In or Cold Wars without a snow shovel and appropriate footwear.

But since I started going about 2007, I have never missed either due to weather. I have to drive from southwestern Ohio and cross mountains all through Pennsylvania.

I remember Cold Wars 2011. Not really that bad for travel. But Historicon is the only one of the three I don't pack for snow.

I did miss Cold Wars 2015 due to bad travel weather. Totaled a car trying to get there, and not a rental to be had in time to do me any good.

I remember there was a Cold Wars that was really bad – I think 2006 or 2007?
