…Fett Movie Is Dead. "It appears that the Boba Fett movie isn't happening after all. When it was first announced that Disney had purchased Lucasfilm and new Star Wars movies were being planned, it was reported that a spinoff focusing on the Boba Fett character was one of the many non-Episode films in development. That project was finally confirmed this past May when it was reported that James Mangold would write and direct the Boba Fett movie. This news just so happened to break literally one day before Solo: A Star Wars Story opened in theaters, a film that wasn't tracking so hot for its opening weekend. While the Boba Fett movie may very well have been in development, the timing of the announcement seemed curious—sometimes studios will break news about future sequels or spinoffs so audiences feel obligated to see whatever film precedes them, which in this case was Solo. But regardless of whether that leak was calculated or not, Collider exclusively broke the news this past June that future A Star Wars Story spinoffs—including the Boba Fett movie—were on hold as Lucasfilm readjusted following the disappointing box office performance of Solo…." You do start to wonder where these companies are getting their viewer stats from, and if they really care about ratings/ticket sales. |

A pity. That was the ONE I was really looking forward to. Disney has no one to blame but themselves, but of course, they'll blame the fans/public, anyway. |

This is fine in my opinion. Allows them to work on the core stories. I think Obi-Wan would have been the better story anyway. Episodes I-III look better and better all the time. I know their was quirky stuff (trade dispute….zzzzzz) but there was a story that Lucas told. The new stuff is a little disjointed. Its probably because its written by committee now. Rian did a bad job, his directing was fine but the writing leaves a lot of holes. |

Basicaly take any 80s trilogy or film series and they are now making bad films (compared to originals) that have the franchise murky. Different effects, writers, cameras, modernisation if themes, so on. Aliens, Terminator, Mad Max, Indiana Jones, Star wars… Rocky and Rambo are my only exceptions to this, although the Gore in Rambo was high, but I think Stallone (all of them, Sly and family) were so involved, writing, direction, producing, acting, music so on, that the modern sequels worked better than most. |

I was never a Boba Fett fan. Very glad the Sarlac got him :) Perfectly happy there is no movie, either. |

Based upon the movies, he seems to be somewhat over-rated in Star Wars lore. Kinda like the Emperor's Guards too. I expected a lot more from all of them, but of course I did of the Stormies too, after Obi Wan's comments to Luke about how "precise" they were with their shooting. Clearly, the rantings of an olde man, suffering from dementia, and delusions of grandeur. |

Kind of a non-event slow news day, eh? Clickbait. The boba fett film was NEVER "confirmed" or greenlit by LFL, so it can NEVER be "cancelled" or "dead". It was a "not going to happen, anyway". More than likely, some nerd got word of a new project involving a mandalorian helmet, jumped to the completely WRONG conclusion (involving jedilike levels of stretching and reaching)and latched onto a boba movie. instead of the TV show. |
