20%….. several thousand soldiers and vehicles. Many seen on the blog Wargamerabbit.

Other collections 40% napoleonic, 30% ancients, and 10% other periods/naval for a rough breakdown.

Bunkermeister Supporting Member of TMP22 Oct 2018 7:22 p.m. PST

95% mostly unpainted.

The rest metal, or other scales.

My estimate is 200,000+

Up until a few weeks ago they had all been retired. I still get Christmas cards from them in Belize. Seriously, I've just started painting Hittite and Egyptians to do Kadesh. They have the advantage of numbers, so maybe ten percent.

More than 95% I reckon. Some metal for commanders and officers, and speciality pieces – like the pontooniers from Franznap.

That is in terms of what I use. I do have metal 15s and some 25s, but they don't get out much

5%, I did a 1/72 plastic "battle of Dorylaeum" from the First Crusade (to have my students play through when we read "Gesta Francorum") But, the rest of my collection is 28mm (mostly) metal.

Among the painted figures, about 80%.

Personal logo Sgt Slag Supporting Member of TMP23 Oct 2018 10:36 a.m. PST

25%, by numbers. I use them for fantasy races, in proper proportion, next to 25mm-28mm Humans, per the sizes listed in the 1977 AD&D Monster Manual sizes. Work extremely well to demonstrate Gygax's ideas on proportions. Cheers!

Karellian Knight23 Oct 2018 10:45 a.m. PST

90% most of it painted.

Texas Jack23 Oct 2018 10:53 a.m. PST

With figures only, no planes or ships, then 95% for sure.

About 50%.

John Leahy Sponsoring Member of TMP23 Oct 2018 11:12 a.m. PST

Yeah, about 50% sounds about right. Last I checked had a 1000 boxes of them and about another 3-400 opened up.

Oberlindes Sol LIC Supporting Member of TMP23 Oct 2018 11:15 a.m. PST

When you say "percentage of your collection," do you mean by number of figures and vehicles, by volume, by weight, by amount spent, by current value, or by some blend of those percentages?

Are we to include terrain and buildings, or just figures and vehicles?

By volume occupied in storage, and excluding terrain and buildings, my rough estimate is 10%.

Inclusion of terrain and buildings brings that number down a lot, because I don't have any terrain specific to 1/72. I do have some terrain that works with any scale, such as foam hills and rock formations, hills made of sheets of foam core (like those used by architects), and alien plants.

dantheman23 Oct 2018 12:40 p.m. PST

Based on the number of trays, I would say 20%, all ACW.

The rest are about 50% 25mm and 30% 15mm, all different periods FWIW.
