You were asked – TMP link

When you play a game that is clearly going downhill and one side is definitely going to lose, do you call the game or do you finish until the last trooper is dead?

I would and have "called it"from time to time. I often berate myself for it.

I've been watching Agadmator's Chess Channel on YouTube for a few weeks.
Let me say right off the bat that I know how to move the pieces. Period. I haven't played in 20 years.

He follows the game from the start, and then shows a position in the game with a lot of pieces and says "And in this position, Yuri Andropov conceded."
Huh? Why?
Or "In this position, Kosygin and Reagan agreed to a draw.

An amateur would plug on, not knowing that with excellent play, the game was decided.
If you've played wargames long enough, you know what's going to happen.

Ah, but every so often from the jaws of "certain" defeat a victory is snatched.

Roll any thing but a 1….
