Looking for platoon and company level organization, particularly in Italy. Will use for BA and CoC but I want a historical setup. |

I have a copy of this book. link The unit appears to have been involved in the gran sasso raid. There is a very tiny (print size) fold out with various years. One is dated 1943 and I assume it may be a TOE. I will attempt to scan at a high resolution and report back. Everything is in German. |

OK, scanned the page marked Italy 1943. It appears to be a listing of every sub unit's commanders at various periods during 1943. There are similar pages for different years and theaters. It is not a TOE but a command structure. Since it is all in German I do not know what to make of it. It might be down to platoon senior NCOs as well as officers. In order to make it legible I scanned it at 600 dpi. It is 5000 x 8300 pixels and 5.3 MB in size. If you want a copy PM me with your email and I will forward it. |

Getting accurate information on this will be difficult as AFAIK no FJ KStN's survive before 1944 so there is going to be a degree of speculation involved. General consensus seems to be 12 man sections with 1 or 2 LMG's, 3 sections per platoon with a small HQ element of Officer, NCO and 2 OR's. 3 platoons per company with again with an HQ element. The main question is what heavy weapons if any were present at Company level. Some have suggested 3 81mm mortars of the FJ Kurz type. Other possibilities are Panzerschrecks and tripod MG's. Support attachments could include tripod MG's, mortars and Pak or RCL gun platoons. 2 LMG's per squad is the norm for ground ops, probably 1 if air dropped, but that is speculative. |

I went ahead and picked up the Micromark one for 43. That will give me enough info for what I am doing. Thanks for all your help. |

Stephen, if you post the scanned image, I or someone else would certainly translate it for you. |

I have nowhere to post such a large image. I can't see a need for it for myself but am willing to make it available to anyone who does. If you want it I can email it to you. |
