Do you game the historical triad: ancients, horse-and-musket, and moderns? |

Different triads:
- Foot, horse, guns
- Air, land, sea
- Armor, infantry, artillery
I was gaming the whole OP triad in the early 2000s (ancients/Medievals, horse & musket, WWII), but these days my ancients and Medievals are all collecting dust. - Ix |

Yes. Considering WW2 as modern. |
McWong73 | 20 Oct 2018 2:33 a.m. PST |
Just as Brides must have "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue", so all wargamers should have "something Roman, something French, something German, something unpainted" |
Big Red | 20 Oct 2018 4:47 a.m. PST |
Yes. Considering WW2 as modern. |
Tony S | 20 Oct 2018 5:33 a.m. PST |
Yes. I also fall into McWong's descriptive category, in the Triad as well, having French and Germans across all three periods – although one would have to substitute Gauls and Franks for "French" for ancients. Heck – there are 10mm 1859 French on my painting table even as we speak! |
Joes Shop | 20 Oct 2018 5:33 a.m. PST |
No. No longer play ancients. |
ColCampbell | 20 Oct 2018 6:28 a.m. PST |
My triad is: medieval, horse and musket, and Victorian colonial. But I also have the "quad" mentioned above: Romans (well, the Pontifical Guards), plenty of French, plenty of Germans, and more than plenty of unpainted. Jim |

Yes, in a way. Fantasy, h&m imagi-nations, and sci-fi (essentially WW2 in space) |
robert piepenbrink | 20 Oct 2018 8:15 a.m. PST |
Yes, though horse & musket is where my heart is. Really, though, it should always have been a square: Morschauser's "Shock Period" shading into "Horse and Musket" between the plug and the socket bayonet, and becoming "Moderns" no later than the tank. But existing alongside is always "Colonials" where the two armies are from different periods. I keep waiting for someone to take this where it logically leads and have completely different mechanisms for the two sides. |

Ragbones | 20 Oct 2018 11:18 a.m. PST |
No. I generally don't play games set after 1900. But I love Ancients, Feudal, Horse & Musket and Victorian Colonial. |

A lot of Horse and Musket. Some WWII (if that is still modern), and rarely Ancients. |

My triad is more like Biblicals, Classicals, Medievals. I've got some horse and musket stuff, but haven't played anything in years. And I guess my Wings of Glory (WWI) stuff counts as Moderns in the grand scheme of things? It's not too long since they hit the table? |
