What is DnDSports?
Imagine if two parties fighting for opposite sides found themselves in the same dungeon. It's kill or be killed. What will they do to survive?

DnDSports is the first online D&D Tournament in a cooperative Party vs Party setting from EncounterRoleplay & DnDBeyond with a grand prize of $5,000. USD Over the course of 4 weeks, 16 players will compete in teams of 4 in single elimination games. Each game is a best of 3 arena battle and played via Roll20.

Did this at a tourney in the early ‘90s. My team (all Evil alignment) encountered another team (all Neutral) in a mega dungeon with a final prize of $1,000 USD per player. Both parties were heavily damaged, having each encountered and fought other parties; it was down to just the two of us.
And then, to the amazement of the tourney organizers, we went Kelly's Heroes on ‘em, and made a deal.
"What kind of a deal?"
"A deal deal!"
Realizing that we both were in severe risk of being wiped out, and that we couldn't be certain who would come out on top, we agreed to merge the parties and split the prize evenly among the 10 of us, each taking $500 USD rather than $1,000. USD
The tourney organizers had a cow, but we were adamant, and in the end they had to go along.

So it turns out, we must all have been Republicans. wink

I did a buyin tournament in the 1980's. You paid for your character's stats,Equipment and levels. It took in $5,000 USD grand and the Winner got 75% of the pot. We then fought in a giant maze. I survived 3 duel but was finally kill by a backstabbing thief. Fun thing was the GM took all the money in cash and gave the winner(the thief) a check it bounce higher than a Kite. HE then mysterious disappeared from town.
