Who makes the finest 15mm and 10mm Republican Romans?
I'm not fussed if its early mid or late republic.

The FiB early Romans do look good and the ones in Maldini1966's photo look really great.

As far as their broader range though, bear in mind that for such a new range, they seem to have relied on a very old source, mainly, it would seem, a very early edition of WRG's Armies and enemies of Imperial Rome. This results in a few unfortunate errors – specifically, one is Sassanid bubble hats.

Another is the Blemmyes based on information from before anyone noticed that the old references in that book, and the old WRG army lists conflated the Blemmye and Meroitic civilisations. The Blemmyes did not use elephants. To complete the Blemmye range there should be camel riders and, for the settled Nile Valley Blemmyes, close formation spearmen with hide shields. I'm not convinced about the bald heads either, but I wouldn't be certain about that.

Cheers,
John

Thanks for the responses. I have purchased some Forged in Battle Romans and they look fantastic.

Now I just need to find who out there can paint 15mm miniatures to a fantastic quality.
